NA UNITED ACADEMY
| Mission & Philosophy
The NA United Soccer Academy is open to all interested players, boys and girls, between the ages of 5 & 9 years old. All players that register for the program participate. The mission of the NAU Academy is to introduce our young players to the game of soccer and its fundamental skills in a fun, energetic and safe learning environment. We want to see the players develop an enthusiastic interest for the game of soccer and maintain that same level of interest many years later through their continued participation. The NAU Academy focuses on the development of fundamental skills along with the introduction of structured team play. Players are encouraged to be creative and think on the field for themselves, which is a valuable life skill that extends beyond the soccer field. Our certified coaches, along with members of the NAU Alumni Club, assist the players to learn the basics of the game and develop their individual skill-set at their own pace. Utilizing age and ability based activities, drills and small sided games to maximize touches and involvement in the game is the basis of our approach at this age. NAU Academy games consist of in-house small-sided contests with the periodic “friendly” with other neighboring team or town. History NA United Soccer Academy inaugural season was in the spring of 2009. Upon receiving feedback and inquiries about a U8 spring soccer offering from both current NAU family members and the North Attleboro community, NA United took action to expand its soccer offering to the youths of North Attleboro. Such action proved to fill a void in the town of North Attleboro’s soccer offering. The success of the spring 2009 season lead to the continuation of the NAU Academy program in the fall of 2009 and is now a fixture in the NA United program. |
