Director of Player Development

Doug Gavilanez

Doug was recently named Director of Player Development.  His commitment to making sure our players are getting the best possible soccer experience, on and off the field, is his top priority.  Doug is a long time member of NA United dating back four years.  He has coached at the U14 & U16 levels and brings a structured, disciplined approach to the Club.

Doug is an active member of the Air National Guard where he recently, while deployed in Iraq, organized a men's soccer team that was sponsored (and wore NAU t-shirts) by NA United.  Doug attended Attleboro High School and lives with his wife Lori and two daughters Chelsea and Natasha (Alum 08) in North Attleboro.

Bill Wallace

Bill comes to NA United with over 21 years of coaching experience.  Among his many accomplishments: Varsity Head Coach - Sharon HS (current); North Attleboro High School (1997-2003); Braintree High School (1994-96); Foxboro High School (1992-93); Junior Varsity Head Coach - Walpole High School (1989-91); Dedham High School (1986-88).

Bill has received numerous accolades and honors over his vast career, including 6 Coach of the Year awards: 1999 Soccer Coach of the Year (Hockomock League); 1995 Coach of the Year (Bay State League); 1993 All-Scholastic Coach of the Year (Boston Globe).  Additionally, in every town that has been lucky enough to have Bill as a head coach, the soccer program has made perennial appearances in post-season play.

Bill is a graduate of Bridgewater State College and Dedham High School.

Mark Buron

Mark brings over five years of coaching experience to NA United.Ê Most recently coachingÊ in the North Attleboro Recreation program.Ê Mark has played competitively at the High School, Collegiate and adult level.Ê And was all conference both his junior and senior year of college.

He and his wife Lisa moved to North Attleboro in 2001 and reside with their daughters Erin and Elizabeth.

Mark is a graduate of Fitchburg State College and Holy Name High School in Worcester

Brent Davis

Brent began coaching with NA United in the Fall of 2007 after coaching several seasons of U8 and U10 soccer with the North Attleboro Rec. Department. He played varsity soccer at Ledyard High School in Ledyard CT. He and his wife, Suzanne, moved to North Attleboro in 1989 and reside with their daughters Heather and Emily.

Brent is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Babson College.

Greg Hewitt

Greg has coached with NAU at the U12 and U14 levels over the past three years.  He brings a good understanding of the game and the ability to communicate well with his players.

He and his wife moved to North Attleboro in 1996 and have five daughters, two of whom are currently playing with NAU.

Rich Wissler   

Rich is in his first year coaching with NAU.  He has 4 years of your soccer coaching experience with the North Attleboro Recreation Department as well as experience coaching Little League and Girls Softball.  He played varsity soccer for Toll Gate High School in Warwick, RI.

Rich and his wife Joanna have lived in North Attleboro since 2004 and his daughter currently plays for NAU

Rich is a graduate of Tufts University

Coach U10

Erica LaFond

Erica, an alumnae of NA United, is a freshman at North Attleboro High School where she started at sweeper for the Junior Varsity team. She was a member of NA United first team and for the past few seasons has lent her time and talent to the U10 teams as a coach. Erica was the past recipient of both the Unsung Player and Best Defender awards and a key factor in her teams success over the years. She has a great rapport with the girls and is able to teach them proper techniques to make the girls become better soccer players.

Brad Maher

Brad brings to the table seven years of coaching spread out over the past fifteen years.  From coaching at the Cub Club level of the North Recreation program to being head coach of the high school boys' indoor team, Brad has been able to establish teams that consistently display an increased understanding of the sport of soccer and a level of enjoyment that allows players to have fun while they develop.

Brad has played competitively at the high school, college, and adult levels, and is a licensed referee with the United State Soccer Federation.  He was also a member of the first men's soccer team at North Attleboro High School.

Brad is a graduate of Babson College and North Attleboro High School.

U14 Coach
 

Eric Wescott

Eric is in his first year coaching for NA United, coinciding with his daughter Brieann's first year with the Club. For the past five years he has coached baseball at East Middle School in Brockton. Eric is a special education teacher and graduated from Bridgewater State College with a degree in Motor Development Therapy.

He and his wife CarolAnn moved to North Attleboro in 1998 and reside with their children: Brieann and Anthony.

Mark Petit

Mark has been a certified coach for NA United since the fall of 2008.  He currently coaches both the U10's and Academy girls.  He has coached soccer for North Attleboro Parks & Recreation department for five years.

In addition to soccer, Mark has many years of coaching experience in softball and basketball and is currently a basketball coach for two North Attleboro Park & Rec teams.

Coach U10

Joseph Mills

Joe has coaching experience at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. He began coaching multiple youth sports in high school and continued the practice while in college when he also began handling administrative duties running youth tournaments and leagues.

Joe coached football and basketball collegiately in Minnesota. He has been actively coaching North Attleboro youth sports for 4+ years coinciding with his children's athletic participation.

Joe has been a member of the NA United coaching staff for two years.

Joe is a graduate of Springfield College where he played Division II football and Norwich Free Academy High School (NFA) where he earned CT state-wide recognition in two sports.

Joe and his wife Christine moved to North Attleboro in 2002 where they reside today with their children: Gabriella, Joella, Anabella, and Joseph.

Michael Pothier

Mike brings over 7 years of coaching experience to NA United,Êcoaching both North recreation girls basketball and girls softball. He has been a North resident since 1984 and reside with his wife Stephanie and daughters Gabrielle, Emilie and Michelle.

Mike is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University and Old Rochester High School.

Kempton Mood

Kempton is in his second year of coaching for NA United. He is a lifelong soccer fan and was part of a semi-pro soccer team in Vermont.

Kempton is a graduate of Marlborough High School Kempton and his wife Amy have lived in North Attleboro for over 10 years and resides with his children: Kelsey and Lilly.

Coach U12

Ulrica Strachan

Ulrica is a native of Sweden and has an active history with the game of soccer. Growing up she played youth club soccer in Uppsala, Sweden then moved to the United States. Ulrica played on the BOYS varsity soccer team at North Attleboro High School in the late 1980's and also played with a women's Club team in Sweden during college.

Ulrica brings a unique perspective to NA United's players about the game of soccer and what it take to play at any level. Her determination and knowledge will be valuable to the girls of NAU.

Ulrica is a graduate of Bryant University and lives in North Attleboro with her husband Michael and kids Julia & Michael Jr.

U14 Coach

Scott Blanchette

Scott is in his first year with NA United coaching at the U14 level. His previous coaching experience included two years with Park & Rec, four years in Little North Attleboro League, three years with Park & Rec basketball, and two years with the North Hoops Metro League.

Scott began playing soccer on the first travel team in North Attleboro and at North Attleboro High School, was MVP his sophomore year, Defensive MVP/Captain/All-Star his senior year. He has also played indoor soccer including intramurals at Bridgewater State College.

Scott was born in North Attleboro and resides in town with his wife Donna and children: Ali and Andrew. He is a graduate of North Attleboro High School and Bridgewater State College.

Scott LaFond

Although Scott is in his first year of coaching with the Club, he is a founding member of NA United and brings eight years of experience coaching soccer and hockey programs around the country.

Scott played varsity soccer and hockey at New Milford High School in Connecticut and varsity hockey at the University of Connecticut.

Scott moved to North Attleboro in 2004 where he currently lives with his wife and three daughters, all NA United players.

Scott is a graduate of Bryant University.
